My speech

Hello fellow bloggers,
Last week we did some argument writing. The year 5 & 6s wrote a speech for a contest in Kaikohe. The winners of it were Willow and Depla. They should have their speech on their blogs, anyway, here is my speech.  

Why we should ban alcohol.

I make you angry and drunk, what am I? I’m alcohol. Hi my name is Charlie and I’m here to tell you why alcohol should be banned in New Zealand, and all other countries in the world.

Firstly alcohol can make you say silly things. You could get into a big fight, you could go to hospital because you got really really badly hurt or you could get tasered by the police because you were being stupid and over all you could lose a really good friend that day.

Secondly alcohol makes you drunk, you could be going home in your brand new car then stop focusing on the road which will  cause a big  crash and you could get really hurt.  Or worse you could get pulled over by the police man because you were going way too fast or driving all over the road and you could lose your license or hurt someone else really badly.

Finally it can give you diseases like cancer, lung diseases and diabetes etc. I also found out that over 2.5 million people die each year worldwide due to alcohol related causes.These deaths are only one of the many reasons why alcohol should be banned. Do you want to be one of them I knew I wouldn't won’t to

So I hope I convinced you to stop drinking alcohol and start drinking more water, milk and juice.  If I can make one of you believe that we should ban alcohol and to stop drinking it  that is one life saved. I hope you agree with me.

Setting up for fun Friday

This week is fun Friday and the seniors are setting up for it. Fun Friday is when we set up for a fun day for the kids. My group is Minute to Win it. Minute to win it is an obstacle course. Onsie day

Today we had a onsie day to fundraising for the year one and two zoo trip. My group dressed up as humans. Human are mammals and related to apes. Here is a photo of my group.

Recount

Hello fellow bloggers this week we wrote a recount on what ever we liked. I wrote a recount on my trip to Kaitaia,  have a look at it and see if you can get a picture in your mind. We had to include similes see if you like mine

Yaay! On the weekend we were on our way to Kaitaia my Mum, Dad, Nicole, Beau and I were on our way to my friend Lara and my mum and dad's friends house for Mothers Day.

When we got to the gorge I had just got up from a nap I was as sleepy as a hippo lazing in the sun. All the corners made me feel sick. I went back to sleep, I woke up just before we got to our friends house. I was as excited as a kid at Christmas. I went in the house and said hello to everyone. We played some tag and then had some ribs and chicken for dinner, watched some tv then fell asleep on the couch. The next morning Lara showed me a surprise - their cat had kittens. They were shadowy black and milky white and as soft as a fluffy sheep.
